Dose it matter contin..

                                                                    Continued

This starts with you as the parent. You cannot be a steward to your child and a guide for their moral compass unless you are actively practicing and the living the same values. It seems like a simple enough statement but I am often surprised at the amount of people who think differently. A rotten tree will bare rotten fruit. I was challenged once after denying my daughter a friend request from her aunt on Face book. There were at the time daily postings of her partying, she was an admitted adulterer, and had random posting of profanity and filth on her Wall. For me it was not a question of keeping my daughter in a bubble for the rest of her life, she is a freshman in High school where there is daily exposure such things; it had more to do with letting her be exposed to this filth. As a father why would I do that? I told my daughter “no” and I explained to her why and how a decent person in full view of God should not conduct themselves like that. She has made her decision and has repeatedly defied God’s law and done her own thing. We all sin but the difference is in how you sin; if you continue to knowingly sin and if you ask for forgiveness.

Does it matter how we live?

Does it matter how we live?

I once heard a Vegan say “living food living body, dead food dead body”. Now while I may not agree with a meatless life style I do see wisdom in the statement and how it can be applied to how we should live our lives. This basic concept is if we think it, watch it, allow it into too our lives through, our TV, life styles, dress, and our thoughts that is what we will become.

Take a professional athlete; a world class full contact Tae Kwon Do student. At that level everything he does is deliberately focused on his objective, which is to transform his body and more importantly his mind into a weapon to defeat his opponent. He will surround himself with what it takes to accomplish this. The way he eats, thinks, exercises, conducts himself, clothes, shoes, hair style: all this to prepare his body and soul for battle, and when done right he has transformed himself into a weapon. Another example is a professional dancer. Her day starts with stretching, forms…

When you buy a car or truck or someone you know gets one, have you noticed how quickly you start to notice that make and model everywhere you go?

Why is it important to be involved in what your child watches, is exposed too? Further more why is it important to explain to them why they are not allowed to do, watch or participate in certain things. So in other words why censorship?
